11/05/2006         Let’s Reminisce and Write

Are you being bugged by your kids/grandkids/nieces/nephews to record family stories? Are you having trouble getting motivated? Could you use a little help without being intimidated?

Our Episcopal Church Women (ECW) are offering a workshop on Sunday afternoon, November 5 at 3:00 P.M. in the Ministry Center. The workshop will be conducted by Harriet Little, an amateur genealogist and free lance writer who has taught writing to adults and teenagers. ECW will furnish writing materials, or you may bring you own. In any case, come prepared to write.

Harriet promises an unstructured, stress-free experience that will get you excited about writing your memoirs - or just making notes about a few stories you’d like to preserve. It will last about an hour and will include refreshments. If you really get into the writing mode and want more help, a follow-up session will be scheduled for two weeks later.

While reservations are not essential, as a courtesy, we would appreciate your registering with the Epiphany office at churchoffice@tceci.net or by calling (803) 492 7644. It is hoped that nobody will be turned away; however we would prefer having sufficient writing materials and refreshments.

Most memoir workshops charge a fixed fee, but ECW has decided to solicit donations instead, all to be used for upkeep and maintenance of the Ministry Center. As most of you know, Epiphany is very proud to have dedicated this facility debt free in December 2000 and has encouraged use by the community. While some events generate fees, many do not, and upkeep is costly. It is hoped that all you motivated writers will be generous!

We look forward to your joining us for a pleasant and informative afternoon.
